Out of all the compliments one could possibly receive, my favorite has always been “what perfume are you wearing?!” Every day, next to picking out my outfit, the hardest decision to make is deciding what fragrance to wear. I take pride in all things fragrance and it has always been something I have been willing to spend more money on. If I spend big bucks purchasing my favorite fragrances from Jo Malone or Tory Burch, it is nice to be reassured I am getting my money’s worth. Finding my scent has truly been a personal journey and along the way, I have found a way to ensure that my fragrance lasts all day long. It may seem silly but trust me, it really does work.

1. Even though fragrance bottles can also be used as decorations, don't let your bottles sit in the sun or in the bathroom. The direct contact to heat and humidity can actually weaken the fragrance before you even spray it. The best place to keep fragrances is a dry and semi-cool place, for example inside a dresser drawer!

2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Apply lotion before applying fragrance so that your supple skin will retain the scent longer!

3. Contrary to popular belief, rubbing your wrists together after spritzing on a fragrance can actually cause the perfume to fade faster due to the friction.

4. Know the different types of fragrance before you buy it! Scents labeled eau de cologne or eau de toilette have lower concentrations of fragrance oils. Eau de parfum fragrances are a lot more concentrated and hence last the longest!

5. Lastly, if you feel the need to freshen up your scent throughout the day, instead of lugging around a heavy fragrance bottle, soak some cotton swabs of your fragrance in a baggy to swipe on the skin for a touch-up!

That concludes all of the tips I know of and use in my daily life, so I can attest that they do in fact work! Happy Spritzing!
